Our Future Characters: Papa Pan & Mama Tink
Andras Maros and Mayana Kingery share the process they experienced of creating the
FutureMentory Film Festival through their personal Heartistry.
FutureMentory Film Festival through their personal Heartistry.
It was a cold and rainy sixth day of Winter. The world was in chaos and fear was viral in the mind of humanity. In a small home in rural America, a man and woman consider the deep questions of what can be created to heal and develop a better future for all creatures on Earth. Separation in families – isolation for individuals – violence in communities – and anger on the rise. Everyone feels and knows it… even these two Heartists.
Governments are failing to offer healthy systems that support life and are destroying the planet at an alarming rate. Most people are in survival mode and cannot even consider the future… they are just trying to survive today. Fear creeps into every heart and grips each one in their own trauma response, whether freezing, fleeing, fighting or any other reaction that may emerge.
This elder couple sit by the fire with a cup of cocoa and tears in their eyes as they experience all this in their own personal lives with separation from their own children and the pain of their own hearts. The remnants of Christmas still present as two kittens roll and play with wrapping paper and ribbons, boxes and balls, bringing a smile to the teary faces. This simple moment is a treasure they wrap in a loving glance together.
What will the next moments bring? How will these hearts be heard? What newness will emerge to heal their own hearts and their children’s hearts? What influence can they have on the bigger picture of global traumatic activities?
“All we can do… is all we can do” says Mama Tink quietly. “I’m feeling tired and discouraged tonight.”
Papa Pan begins. “Let’s imagine together and see what emerges to inspire and encourage us.”
They both set down their cups of cocoa and adjust their chairs to face one another. Knees nearly touching, they grasp hands – right hand to right hand and left hand to left hand – creating an infinity flow between their hearts and hands. They look lovingly together eye to eye and gently close their eyes as they take a deep breath in unison. Breathing in and out slowly and rhythmically they align their hearts, minds, and energy bodies – opening to receive from other realms and future timelines.
A warm glow surrounds the couple as they breathe together. Their hands begin to emit a white light and their hearts glow green as the energy between them builds with the increase in their breathing pattern.
Silence… Stillness… Glowing…
A light blue light begins to glow in the center of each forehead as wrinkles relax, tears dry, and easy smiles emerge. The energy between the two begins to grow and be seen on the outside by a golden line flowing as infinity through their hearts and hands. The flow runs into Mama Tinks’ right hand and out her left… flowing into Papa Pan’s left hand and out his right. The flow speeds with their breath as they begin to breathe rapidly in and out.
The room around them begins to dissolve as they step out of time with their breath. They are now in a blue sphere of light sitting and breathing together with eyes still closed. Both beings begin to experience the greater loving presence that surrounds us all at all times. Shoulders relax, spines straighten, and their bodies begin to flow within the rhythm created by their breath. Light within and surrounding them brightens and their visage begins to show a more fuller presence… pure and divine light sparkles and shimmers around the two.
Together, Papa Pan and Mama Tink take a deeper breath and exhale slowly… slower and slower with each breath placing them fully within the loving stillness of no time and all time. Images begin to emerge around them in all directions. Future potential experiences float around in the midst of their presence. Slowly a single image takes precedence in the field… They breathe that image in and begin to experience this future potential.
Both are seemingly nearly the same age as the moment they began the visioning but stronger and dressed more elegantly. They gently open their eyes to see one another in this future timeline with present eyes and hold the vision together for a moment – seeing each other in their purest form and knowing what their experience is that enlivened their hearts.
In the vision we see young people all around the two. They are giving out awards at a ceremony to children, youth, and young adults. The celebratory effect is contagious as we see an audience of more young folk, parents, grandparents, and a variety of colors and shades of humanity’s cultures dressed in finery and looking eagerly upon the ceremony.
The theater is an historic one… more than 100 years of plays, concerts, and events have graced the stage in times past. Stories of all kinds, music of all genres, and people of all cultures have been represented on this stage where life follows art and art follows life.
Papa Pan walks to a microphone and begins to tell the story of how this vision emerged and what it took to manifest the reality of these awards. “It all begins with inspiration and imagination!” he declares. “We dreamt of providing a space and a way for all your voices and dreams to be shared, seen and heard. The world needs visionaries more than ever and you have all proven that dreams can come true – when we imagine and take steps toward the fulfilment of those dreams. Each step we take is vital, but the first step is the most important for we must first know where we are so we know what direction to step in.
“When Mama Tink and I began this experience, we were deeply saddened by the state of our world and nearly hopeless for a future for you. Yet, we knew how to reach for something new… a new idea we had not thought before. The field of potentiality holds all possibilities, and we must choose our future destiny as it could be easily missed without attention to the smallest of details. If we live our lives without intention, we just get moved by one experience after another and that may not be in the direction we would choose.
“It is so easy to take the path where events simply happen to us and we can spend our whole life simply feeding a mass consciousness that saps our strength and dreams. This Film Festival is our gift for the future of a humanity that lives on purpose. Each one of you here today will benefit from having found your vision and telling your story in film… solidifying your purpose and giving yourself your best gift… knowing what step to take and in which direction to focus your attention.
“The little details of the journey you will take to manifest your dreams will require vigilance and intuition to know what to let go and what to develop more fully in each moment. Each day begin with your vision and feel in your heart what you must do this day to reach your goal. Allow your film to mentor your daily actions and be assured of the results – your personal happiness.”
Mama Tink joins Papa Pan at the microphone as Papa Pan steps aside for her to share.
“To all our award recipients today, we see your joy and excitement for the award and this ceremony and rejoice with you. AND we know the long-term results of your success here today will be more valuable than this award. We look forward to seeing your dreams come true as ours has today.
“There will be moments along your journey when you question if it’s possible. There will be times when you may not see the next step to take. There will be detractors and naysayers who tell you that you can’t do it – whatever it is you have envisioned for yourself. Don’t listen to them. Listen to your own heart and break free from any restraints to your creativity manifesting. We believe in you! We see you, hear you, and value your vision for your life.”
Both Papa Pan and Mama Tink step away from the microphone and a young couple step forward to lead the awards ceremony. They embrace one another as they pass by… showing the depth of love evident between the elder and younger couples.
First Person “When Papa Pan and Mama Tink first came to us with this idea of a FutureMentory Film Festival, we wondered how to reach the dreamers through the confusion and fear in consciousness. Could we find a way to reach those who came to envision a new world? Will they hear and see the offering or be blinded to their own imagination?”
Second Person “Each generation lives a completely different shared life experience here, and we had to find ways to bridge and bring together the future generations. We discussed many ways of reaching people, from social media posts to advertising on platforms like youtube and google. We talked about billboards in the cities and through schools all around rural America.”
First Person “We came up with the plan that brought us here today. We decided to go straight to the top – to the Departments of Education and Health and Welfare. We created a plan where the idea of a film festival would be offered to school districts and communities across the United States. Then we thought – why stop there? Let’s make it global and reach people in war torn areas, refugees, and across all cultures.”
Second Person “We eventually teamed with the US Government, the International Association for Human Values founded by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and the Dalai Lama, the International Rescue Committee, and Unicef. We were most surprised by the reception at each level and agency! Everyone was looking for something new and this effort fit beautifully into the global effort for change.”
First Person “Most of all, we want to thank and recognize our Spokesperson for stepping into the role of the face of FutureMentory Films – without your presence, energy, and shared vision, we would not be here now. The world listens to you and we are so grateful they heard!
Second Person “Please welcome the Star of Stage and Screen – and our personal benefactor (INSERT NAME OF STAR HERE)
“Thank you. Now the way I came to know about this project was simply magical. I’m asked to do a lot of things and to put my name on a variety of projects. Sometimes I do and more often I don’t. I was on a set filming … and overheard a conversation by some young technicians about a Film Festival they were thinking of submitting a film to. They were teaming up to develop a film about their own lives in the film industry and how they saw it changing to include more people, more easily, and without the trauma and drama that’s been a big part of the Hollywood experience up til now.
“I was intrigued and asked them to tell me more about their project. You just met these two filmmakers who inspired me to step in and get involved with Peace Production.” She offers her hand to the two who had just spoken and the audience stands with applause. “of course, through them I discovered the precious couple who dreamed this up in the first place – Mama Tink and Papa Pan!” applause continues.
“Now I want you to know that the process they suggest for creating your own life is exactly what I did in my life. I set my mind and heart to my vision and goals and let no one stop me. I think that’s the quality of a GOAT (laughter) they butt heads and eventually get what they want. It’s exciting to see so many young people here today feeling that inspiration for their own lives and dreams. I’m honored to put my support behind the FutureMentory Film project and look forward to many years of festivals and dreams coming true!”
“I want to introduce you to a woman who has truly ‘stepped in it’ and rose to leadership in our country through her vision for government. In 2020 The Intercept (online newspaper) and AOC created a little video that represents what we are offering here in the FutureMentory Film Festival. We invite you to watch the video and welcome Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez!” https://youtu.be/d9uTH0iprVQ (Audience applause, film showing, and AOC steps forth.)
“Thank you! It’s so wonderful that a simple little cartoon we made so long ago has been able to represent something bigger than our original intention for it. Thank you, Papa Pan and Mama Tink, for honoring my vision as I stepped into my role in Congress. We were so excited for the potential of the Green New Deal and the promise it offered. We got waylayed for a few years, but eventually we have passed a little different Green New Deal and I am so excited to be here today! I rode that high speed rail into work last week! My dream has come true! Now let’s see what these youth have dreamt up for us to support for their future!”
The stage image begins to fade out as Papa Pan and Mama Tink return to center image… return to their seated position in the visioning process… and their hands held together firmly. Breathing more normally as all the colors fade, we return to the couple by the fire in their cozy home. Deeply and slowly breathing, both open their eyes at the same moment and rise to embrace. The FutureMentory Vision is declared!
They sit back down and drink their cooled cocoa and simply smile knowingly.
